Affiliate Disclosure
A Time To Shop makes money from affiliate commission. When you follow a link from this site and buy something or sign up for something, the company may pay us a commission. It costs you nothing extra: the price is the same as if you had gone there directly.
This page is our standing disclosure. It is not the only one: every paid link on this site also carries a label right next to the link, because the Federal Trade Commission's endorsement guides require a disclosure a reader actually encounters at the moment of the click, and a policy page buried in the footer does not achieve that on its own.

How to spot a paid link
Look for a small label immediately beside the link. You will see wording such as:
- (affiliate link)
- (sponsored / affiliate)
Product recommendation cards and comparison tables are paid links too, and carry the same label. Plain links to a manufacturer's specification page, a standards body, a news report or another page on this site are not paid and are not labelled.
What commission does not buy
It does not buy a recommendation, a ranking, a score, or a place in a roundup. We decide what to cover and what to recommend before commercial terms enter the picture, and we recommend products from companies that pay us nothing whenever those are the better choice. Where a product we rate highly has no affiliate program at all, we still recommend it and simply earn nothing from it.
We do not accept payment for a favourable review, we do not let a brand approve our copy before publication, and we do not remove criticism in exchange for commission. If a brand ever asked us to, we would say so in the article.
If a brand gave us a product, paid for access, or has any relationship with us beyond a standard affiliate program, that is stated in the article itself, because a material connection has to be disclosed where the reader will see it and not only here.

Our editorial standards, including what we do and do not claim to have tested ourselves, are set out in our disclaimer. Where an article is desk research rather than hands-on testing, the article says so.
